Peter Ruzicka has completed the composition of his second full-length work for musical theatre, HOELDERLIN. The first performance took place on the 16th November 2008 in Berlin at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, which commissioned the piece.

Aiming to build it a world leading music festival, BMF has always been devoted to commission new works since its founding in 1998. This year, it joins with Bavarian State Opera and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra to commission the South Korean composer Unsuk Chin to create the orchestral work Rocana. China Philharmonic Orchestra will play it under the baton of Peter Ruzicka. In celebration onto the tremendous contribution and supporting the contemporary music in promotion to the world, the annual award of "The Artist of the Year of The 11th Beijing Music Festival" goes to the composor/conductor Mr. Peter Ruzicka this season 2008.
